Essen, Germany, 12 February 2020. In the upcoming 2020 season, the Essen-based braking system specialist for the independent aftermarket Hella Pagid will remain the main sponsor of the motor sports team racing one. "With this commitment, our partnership enters its third year. After a sensational first year in 2018, in which we finished in first place twice and third place once, we experienced a hard-fought 2019 season in which we were ultimately able to achieve second place in the SP8 class at the VLN Nürburgring Endurance Series," said Timo Krämer, Senior Marketing Manager at Hella Pagid.
In addition to the VLN Endurance Series, "Hella Pagid - racing one" also fought thrilling duels in the ADAC TCR Germany and the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2019. At the end of the season, the 3rd place in the junior classification in the ADAC TCR Germany was achieved. In the ADAC GT4 Germany, "Hella Pagid - racing one" again ranked 3rd in the Trophy classification.
In the upcoming 2020 season, the motorsport team will compete for the first time in the Nürburgring Endurance Series in the "SP9 Pro/Am" classification of the GT3 class with the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo (model year 2020), which is Ferrari's current flagship. Just like the previous model in recent years, the vehicle will be given a complete Hella Pagid branding and design.
The highlight regarding the upcoming season 2020 will be the participation in the highest classification of the world famous 24h race at the Nürburgring with the “Hella Pagid – racing one” Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo. This leading endurance race will be visited by 300,000 to 350,000 spectators around the track and will be broadcast in TV in several countries worldwide.
In the highly competitive ADAC TCR Germany, "Hella Pagid - racing one" will once again compete with the AUDI RS3 TCR LMS. The goal of the season is to fight for the overall title, just as in 2018. As usual, the races will be broadcast live at the weekend on the German sports TV channel "Sport1" as well as in a live stream.
The two AUDI R8 GT4 LMS vehicles with which the team won the PRO/AM team and driver classification in the GT4 European Series in the 2018 season will again compete in the GT4 racing series of ADAC motorsport next year. In the ADAC GT4 Germany, the "Hella Pagid - racing one" AUDI R8 GT4 LMS will be driven with two drivers who will reach for the podium. Here, a place among the top 3 in the drivers' overall standings is the goal as well. This race series will also be broadcast as part of the live coverage on Sport1 and via a live stream.
"With Hella Pagid, we have a strong partner at our side for the third season. As usual and in addition to the official races, we can offer them exciting supporting programs for their customers. We are looking forward to another season as 'Hella Pagid - racing one' in 2020," said Martin Kohlhaas, founder and team boss of racing one.
The "Hella Pagid - racing one" team, like many other leading international racing teams and numerous vehicle manufacturers, trusts in the motorsport know-how, performance and development competence of its sister brand PAGID Racing. This knowledge is consistently transferred to the brake pads from Hella Pagid and used during development to ensure the best braking performance at all times and in all situations out on the roads.
